Anchorwoman of Courage and Faith
When I first met Leslie Mouton, I was immediately impressed with her strength, beauty and quiet dignity: This is a rare commodity in the entertainment business! I have been blessed to meet many great women in the media that are living their lives out of the box- and Leslie is no exception!
It was very interesting how this interview began- we immediately began to discuss Jesus. I was rather surprised for a news anchor to not begin talking about their career, but this was obviously what fuels this woman’s purpose in her personal and professional life. She has attained her status by bringing her talent and God-given charisma to the screen. This is a woman of conviction and courage. The first news anchor to ever go on the air bald after chemo treatments for breast cancer, Leslie has become an American prototype for humility- certainly not ego! She faced the disease with dignity and honor and made a conscious decision to live out this portion of her destiny in the limelight. It was what it was- and she would not hide it from anyone. Leslie has become a model for all people in America fighting this horrible disease. She would not let the side effects from chemo rule her life. As a high profiled news anchor for ABC’s KSAT in San Antonio, Leslie showed the entire nation that faith, courage, truth and conviction could be lived out in front of a camera- coming into people’s homes every morning- with… or without her beautiful hair!
Leslie Mouton: TTW salutes you as a valued member of the media that has the courage to be the woman God created her to be. God bless you dear girl!
